Target Information
NUAK2 (also known as SNF1/AMP kinase-related kinase or SNARK) is a member of the NUAK family of SNF1-like kinase 2. It is activated by muscle contraction and mediates contraction-stimulated glucose transport in skeletal muscle. NUAK2 is involved in cellular stress responses associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes. Its kinase activity increases under glucose deprivation and is regulated via AMPK kinase-dependent pathways.
