Target Information
SRPK2, along with SRPK1, is most likely the cellular protein kinase mediating HBV core protein phosphorylation during viral infection. It represents an important host cell target for therapeutic intervention in HBV infection.
Promotes neuronal apoptosis by up-regulating cyclin-D1 (CCND1) expression through phosphorylation of SRSF2, suppressing p53/TP53 phosphorylation. Phosphorylates ACIN1, redistributing it from nuclear speckles to nucleoplasm, leading to cyclin A1 up-regulation.
Plays a role in spliceosomal B complex formation via phosphorylation of DDX23/PRP28 and negatively regulates HBV replication by reducing packaging efficiency of pregenomic RNA (pgRNA).
