Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
The gene encoding RPL26 produces a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L24P family. It is localized in the cytoplasm, and multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
