Target Information
BCL-XL은 BCL-2 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 이들은 이합체를 형성하여 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 역할을 합니다.
BCL-XL은 미토콘드리아 외막에 위치하며, VDAC 채널 개폐를 조절하여 미토콘드리아 막전위, 활성산소 생성, cytochrome C 방출 등을 제어합니다.
두 가지 스플라이싱 변형체가 존재하며, 긴 형태는 apoptosis 억제, 짧은 형태는 apoptosis 활성화 기능을 가집니다.
