Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the SEC24 subfamily of the SEC23/SEC24 family, which is involved in vesicle trafficking. It is homologous to the yeast Sec24p component of COPII, the coat protein complex responsible for vesicle budding from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). This gene product plays roles in vesicle shaping, cargo selection, and concentration.
