Target Information
TIP47 (Perilipin 3) is a cargo protein involved in trafficking of mannose-6-phosphate receptors between endosomes and the Golgi complex. It interacts with cytoplasmic domains of both cation-independent and cation-dependent MPRs, facilitating endosome-to-Golgi transport.
This protein binds directly to the GTPase RAB9, enhancing cargo affinity, and is localized in milk fat globule membranes of human and bovine origin. It is also expressed in placenta and secreted in higher amounts in cervix carcinoma patients, indicating potential as an oncodevelopmental marker.
