Target Information
CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1) is a 419 amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue. It functions as a zinc-dependent pancreatic exopeptidase that catalyzes the release of C-terminal amino acids from proteins, playing a key role in protein digestion and degradation. CPA1 may also participate in zymogen inhibition, influencing enzyme activation pathways. Abnormal CPA1 expression has been linked to pancreatic cancer, suggesting roles in tumor progression or suppression.
