Product Specific Information

This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Influenza A H5N1 (A/Hubei/1/2010) Neuraminidase (NA).

Target Information

Influenza A virus is a major public health threat, responsible for more than 30,000 deaths annually in the USA. In 2009, a novel swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus emerged and spread globally, leading to a pandemic declared by the WHO.
Influenza A virus possesses one of sixteen Hemagglutinin (HA) and one of nine Neuraminidase (NA) surface proteins. HA facilitates viral attachment, while NA aids in viral release. Both proteins elicit immune responses that prevent infection or reduce viral replication.
The 2009 H1N1 strain combined genetic material from human, swine, and avian influenza viruses, along with two Eurasian pig H3N2 genes of human origin. Due to its distinct antigenic properties, human immunity to this strain was limited, though some older individuals showed partial protection.
