Target Information
CACNA2D4 belongs to the alpha-2/delta subunit family in the voltage-dependent calcium channel complex. These channels mediate calcium ion influx upon membrane polarization and consist of alpha-1, alpha-2/delta, beta, and gamma subunits in a 1:1:1:1 ratio.
Alternative splice variants and cleavage into alpha-2 and delta subunits have been observed.
This protein plays a key role in calcium signaling and cellular excitability.
