Target Information

CACNA2D3 (CaV α2δ3) is a member of the alpha-2/delta subunit family, part of the voltage-dependent calcium channel complex.
These channels mediate calcium ion influx upon membrane polarization and consist of α1, α2/δ, β, and γ subunits in a 1:1:1:1 ratio.
Different isoforms exist due to gene variations or alternative splicing.
Studies in rabbit suggest the protein is cleaved into α2 and δ subunits.
