Target Information
SNX6 interacts with members of the transforming growth factor-beta family of receptor serine-threonine kinases. These receptors belong to two classes: type II receptors that bind ligand, and type I receptors that are subsequently recruited to transduce the signal. SNX6 interacts strongly with ActRIIB and moderately with TbetaRII mutants, and interacts only with inactivated TbetaRI among type I receptors. SNXs 1–4 also interact with the TGF-beta receptor family, showing different receptor preferences. SNX6 and other SNX proteins form heteromeric complexes, suggesting in vivo oligomeric formation. These findings support the association of SNX family molecules with receptor serine-threonine kinases.
