Target Information
ADAM32 encodes a member of the disintegrin family of membrane-anchored proteins involved in processes such as brain development, fertilization, tumor development, and inflammation. It is predominantly expressed in the testis. The protein undergoes proteolytic processing to form a mature polypeptide with metalloprotease, disintegrin, and EGF-like domains. This gene is located in a cluster of disintegrin and metallopeptidase family genes on chromosome 8. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
