Target Information
Acyl-CoA thioesterases are enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of acyl-CoAs to free fatty acids and coenzyme A (CoASH), regulating intracellular levels of these molecules (PubMed:16940157).
ACOT4 is a peroxisomal succinyl-coenzyme A thioesterase that can also hydrolyze glutaryl-CoA and long-chain saturated acyl-CoAs (PubMed:16940157). [UniProt]
