Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it forms the nucleosome structure. Histones play key roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation influence chromatin structure and transcription factor binding. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo multiple modifications affecting cellular processes.
