Target Information
This protein belongs to the cytidine deaminase gene family. It is one of seven related genes or pseudogenes found in a cluster on chromosome 22, likely resulting from gene duplication. Members of this cluster encode proteins structurally and functionally related to the C to U RNA-editing cytidine deaminase APOBEC1. These proteins may act as RNA editing enzymes and play roles in growth or cell cycle control.
