Transmembrane protein 123 (TMEM123) is a single-pass type I membrane protein belonging to the CD164 family. TMEM123 serves as a marker for dendritic cell (DC) maturation and is associated with the cell surface expression of CD40. It has been implicated in oncotic cell death, characterized by cell and organelle swelling, vacuolization, increased membrane permeability, and cell adhesion.
