Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Herpes simplex virus (HSV) belongs to the Herpesviridae family and includes two types: HSV-1 and HSV-2 (also known as Human herpes virus 1 and 2, HHV-1 and HHV-2).
- HSV-1: typically causes oral lesions (cold sores)
- HSV-2: primarily responsible for genital herpes
HSV can spread through viral shedding from infected individuals. The virion contains a large double-stranded linear DNA genome within a capsid and viral envelope. HSV strains have over 70 open reading frames (ORFs) and have been associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
