Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of B-Raf only when phosphorylated at Threonine 599.
Target Information
BRAF is involved in the transduction of mitogenic signals from the cell membrane to the nucleus. It is activated by somatic point mutation in human cancer and plays a role in postsynaptic responses of hippocampal neurons. This protein regulates the MAP kinase/ERKs signaling pathway, affecting cell division, differentiation, and secretion.
Mutations in B-Raf are associated with various cancers, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma, colorectal cancer, malignant melanoma, thyroid carcinoma, non-small cell lung carcinoma, and lung adenocarcinoma. A pseudogene located on chromosome X has also been identified for B-Raf.
