This antibody detects endogenous levels of PLCG2 only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 753.
Target Information
Phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC) plays a crucial role in receptor-mediated signal transduction through the generation of two second messengers, inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate and diacylglycerol, from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. Mammalian PLC isozymes include PLC beta1, beta2, beta3, beta4, gamma1, gamma2, delta1, delta2, and PLCe. PLC delta exists as four isoforms. PLC delta1 acts as a calcium signal amplifier and is activated by atypical GTP-binding proteins. It functions as an effector for GTP-binding protein transglutaminase II-mediated signaling via oxytocin and alpha1B-adrenoreceptors. Mouse PLC delta1 is highly expressed in brain, heart, lung, and testis. Abnormal accumulation of PLC delta in Alzheimer’s disease brains suggests a role in AD pathology. PLC delta2 expression is associated with intestinal metaplasia and adenocarcinoma, potentially serving as a marker of gastric malignant transformation.
