• Description: Monoclonal rat IgG2a is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
• Applications Reported: Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and ELISA.
• Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by staining and flow cytometric analysis. Use 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test, defined as staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
• Light Sensitivity: Tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect vial and samples from light.
• Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.
• Excitation / Emission: 488–561 nm / 667 nm; compatible with Blue, Green, Yellow-Green lasers.
• Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Rat IgG2a is an immunoglobulin subclass produced by the rat immune system, known for complement activation and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC).
It has a molecular weight of approximately 160 kDa, composed of two heavy and two light chains.
Commonly used as a control or reference antibody in rat model experiments, including flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
