Target Information
This gene belongs to the neurotrophin family, which regulates the survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. Its expression is ubiquitous and less affected by environmental factors. Unlike other neurotrophins such as NGF, BDNF, and NT3, knockout of NTF5 results in minor cellular deficits, allowing normal development to adulthood.
