ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs)는 콜레라 독소의 ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 증가시키는 highly conserved guanine nucleotide binding 단백질입니다. ARFs는 진핵세포의 소포 수송 경로에 중요하며, phospholipase D (PC-PLD)의 활성화에 필수적인 역할을 합니다.
ARL15 (ADP-ribosylation factor-like 15)는 Ras 초패밀리의 ARF 계열에 속하며, 인간 발암 과정에서 변형되는 여러 조절 경로에 관여합니다.
이 단백질 패밀리의 다른 구성원으로는 종양 억제 기능을 가진 것으로 추정되는 ARL11, 미세소관 역학 및 세포 주기 진행에 중요한 ARL2, 그리고 배아 발생 중 신경 발생에 관여할 수 있는 ARL4가 있습니다.
