Target Information
APC2 is a highly conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle.
APC/C is responsible for degrading anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins, ensuring that mitotic events occur in proper sequence.
APC2 contains cullin and RING finger domains important for regulating ubiquitination activity.
