Target Information
O6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) is a key DNA repair protein that contributes to tumor cell resistance against alkylating chemotherapeutic agents. It protects normal cells from genotoxic and carcinogenic effects of DNA alkylation by removing alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine. MGMT expression varies across cell types, tissues, species, and tumor groups.
