Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-associated factors (TRAFs) are adaptor proteins that link the TNF receptor superfamily to intracellular signaling pathways, regulating cell death and stress responses. TRAF2 and TRAF3 bind directly to CD40, a receptor involved in B cell immunity, and are essential for NF-κB activation in mouse B lymphocytes. TRAF2, along with TRAF6, is required for CD40 signaling in non-hematopoietic cells and also interacts with the lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTβR) in association with TRAF3 and apoptosis inhibitors cIAP1 and Smac.
