Target Information
The RFX3 gene belongs to the regulatory factor X gene family, encoding transcription factors with a conserved winged helix DNA-binding domain. The RFX3 protein is structurally related to RFX1, RFX2, RFX4, and RFX5, and functions as a transcriptional activator that can bind DNA as a monomer or heterodimerize with other RFX family members. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described, with at least one utilizing alternative polyadenylation signals.
