Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene has a C-terminal domain with tRNA 3' processing endoribonuclease activity, catalyzing removal of the 3' trailer from precursor tRNAs. It interacts with activated Smad2 and its nuclear partner FAST-1 (forkhead box H1). Reduced expression can suppress TGF-beta-induced growth arrest. Mutations are associated with increased prostate cancer risk. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist.
