Target Information
Dorsal neural-tube nuclear protein (DNTNP) is a 398 amino acid nuclear protein involved in neural development by specifying dorsal cell fates within the neural tube.
It is widely expressed in the dorsal neural tube, particularly in regions such as the midbrain, hindbrain, diencephalon, and spinal neural tube, with lower expression in branchial arches, telencephalon, heart, and somites of developing embryos.
The DNTNP gene is located on chromosome 4, which also contains the Huntingtin gene associated with Huntington’s disease.
