ArfGAP1은 406개의 아미노산으로 구성된 조절 단백질로, ADP ribosylation factor (ARF)의 GTPase 활성화를 조절하는 Arf-GAP 도메인을 포함합니다.
ArfGAP1은 ARF1의 GTPase-activating protein (GAP)으로 작용하여 ARF1 결합 GTP의 가수분해를 촉진하고, 골지 유래 막 및 소포에서 코트 단백질의 해리를 유도하여 막 수송 및 소포 이동에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 단백질의 활성은 phosphoinositides에 의해 자극되고, phosphatidylcholine에 의해 억제됩니다. 두 가지 전사 변이체가 보고되었으며, 대부분의 조직에서 광범위하게 발현됩니다.
