ArfGAP1은 406개의 아미노산으로 구성된 조절 단백질로, ADP 리보실화 인자(ARF)의 GTPase 활성을 조절하는 Arf-GAP 도메인을 포함합니다.
이 단백질은 ARF1의 GTP 결합 상태에서 GTP 가수분해를 촉진하며, 골지 유래 막 및 소포에서 코트 단백질의 분리를 유도하여 막 수송 및 소포 이동에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
활성은 포스포이노시드에 의해 촉진되고 포스파티딜콜린에 의해 억제됩니다. 두 가지 이형체를 암호화하는 전사 변이체가 보고되었으며, 대부분의 조직에서 보편적으로 발현됩니다.
