Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD314 / NKG2D, a 42 kDa C-type lectin-like activating receptor expressed by NK cells, gamma/delta T cells, and CD8+ T cells.
Target Information
Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that can mediate lysis of certain tumor cells and virus-infected cells without prior activation. NK cells regulate humoral and cell-mediated immunity and express several calcium-dependent (C-type) lectins involved in NK cell function regulation.
The NKG2 gene encodes a transmembrane protein with a type II membrane orientation and a C-type lectin domain. The NKG2 gene family is located within the NK complex, which contains several C-type lectin genes preferentially expressed in NK cells.
