C1orf19은 tRNA-splicing endonuclease complex의 비촉매 서브유닛으로, pre-tRNA의 스플라이싱 부위를 인식하고 절단하는 역할을 담당합니다. 이 복합체는 pre-tRNA의 5’ 및 3’ 스플라이스 부위를 절단하여 인트론과 두 개의 tRNA 절편을 생성합니다. 또한 pre-mRNA 3’-말단 처리 인자와의 상호작용을 통해 mRNA 처리 과정에도 관여하여, tRNA 스플라이싱과 mRNA 3’-말단 형성 간의 연관성을 제공합니다.
