Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

TACC1 is located on the 8p11 chromosomal region, amplified in approximately 15% of breast tumor samples. The short arm of chromosome 8 also contains FGFR1, which shows enhanced expression in most breast cancer tumors.
TACC family members (TACC1, TACC2, TACC3) map closely to FGFR1, FGFR2, and FGFR3 genes on chromosomes 4, 8, and 10, respectively.
Since they are phylogenetically related, TACC and FGFR are proposed to play similar roles in cell growth and differentiation.
TACC1 contains a conserved C-terminal region as in the Drosophila homolog D-TACC, which is necessary for normal spindle function. Mammalian TACC proteins interact with centrosomes and microtubules in a similar manner.
