• Reconstitution: Add 50 µL or 0.2 mL of double-distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
• The antibody is shipped as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
• Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

TMEM38A and TMEM38B are two trimeric intracellular cation (TRIC) channel subtypes.

• TMEM38B is expressed in most mammalian tissues, whereas TMEM38A is preferentially expressed in excitable tissues such as striated muscle and brain.
• Mice deficient in both TMEM38A and TMEM38B exhibit embryonic cardiac failure due to severe dysfunction in SR Ca²⁺ handling.
• TMEM38B-deficient mice die shortly after birth from respiratory failure, showing severe lung abnormalities, indicating TMEM38B’s essential role in perinatal lung maturation.
• Both TMEM38A and TMEM38B act with junctophilin proteins to support efficient ryanodine receptor-mediated Ca²⁺ release in muscle cells.
