Collagen III는 피부, 폐, 혈관계 등 신장성 결합조직에서 발견되는 섬유성 콜라겐으로, 주로 Type I Collagen과 함께 존재합니다. 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 Ehlers-Danlos 증후군 IV형 및 대동맥·동맥류와 관련이 있습니다. 대체 전사체가 검출되었으나, 이는 돌연변이에 의해 발생하며 여러 엑손이 제외되는 스플라이싱 이상을 초래합니다.
