Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and are composed predominantly of three major proteins: NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H.
NF-L is the light or low molecular weight subunit (~70 kDa), while NF-H is the heavy or high molecular weight subunit (180–220 kDa).
Their expression is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated, playing a key role in maintaining neuronal caliber.
