• For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor involved in regulation of T cell and B cell signaling through immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs). Upon phosphorylation, these motifs provide docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases. CD31 is widely expressed within the vascular compartment, mainly at junctions between adjacent cells.
The N-terminal Ig-like domain of CD31 mediates homophilic binding, playing an important role in cell-cell interactions. CD31 functions in integrin-mediated cell adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and regulation of immune signaling. It is a key regulatory molecule in the vascular system.
