Target Information
Tektin 1 belongs to the tektin family of filament-forming proteins that coassemble with tubulins to form ciliary and flagellar microtubules. This gene is predominantly expressed in the testis. In mouse, tektin 1 mRNA is localized to spermatocytes and round spermatids within seminiferous tubules, suggesting a role in spermatogenesis.
