Target Information

MAPK13 (p38 delta) is a serine/threonine kinase that transduces various extracellular signals including cytokine and environmental stress responses. It also regulates keratinocyte differentiation. Activation occurs via phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases or autophosphorylation triggered by interaction with MAP3K7IP1/TAB1. Substrates include transcription regulators (ATF2, MEF2C, MAX), cell cycle regulator (CDC25B), and tumor suppressor (p53), indicating roles in stress-related transcription, cell cycle regulation, and genotoxic stress response. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
