Collagen III는 피부, 폐, 혈관계 등 신장성 결합조직에 존재하는 섬유성 콜라겐으로, 주로 Collagen I과 함께 존재합니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 Ehlers-Danlos 증후군 IV형 및 대동맥·동맥류와 관련이 있습니다. 관찰된 대체 전사는 주로 돌연변이에 의해 발생하며, 이는 스플라이싱 변화를 유도하여 여러 엑손의 결실을 초래할 수 있습니다.
