Target Information
DCAMKL1 (DCLK1) — also known as doublecortin-like kinase 1 — is a serine/threonine kinase containing two N-terminal doublecortin domains that bind microtubules and regulate microtubule polymerization, a C-terminal serine/threonine protein kinase domain homologous to Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, and a serine/proline-rich domain mediating multiple protein-protein interactions.
DCAMKL1 is a microtubule-associated kinase capable of autophosphorylation and exhibits microtubule-polymerizing activity independent of its kinase activity. It participates in neuronal migration, retrograde transport, neuronal apoptosis, and neurogenesis.
