Target Information
NUMBL plays a role in neurogenesis and is required throughout embryonic neurogenesis to maintain neural progenitor (radial glial) cells. It allows daughter cells to choose progenitor over neuronal cell fate and is also required postnatally in subventricular zone (SVZ) neurogenesis for neuroblast survival and ependymal wall integrity.
Acts as a negative regulator of the NF-kappa-B signaling pathway by preventing MAP3K7IP2 interaction with polyubiquitin chains of TRAF6 and RIPK1, and by promoting Lys-48-linked polyubiquitination and degradation of TRAF6 in cortical neurons.
