Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of CDC25A only when phosphorylated at Serine 178.
Target Information
CDC25A is a member of the CDC25 family of phosphatases. Three CDC25 genes—CDC25A, CDC25B, and CDC25C—are present in human cells and function at different phases of the cell cycle.
CDC25A is required for progression through G1 and S phases and activates the cyclin-dependent kinase CDC2 by removing two phosphate groups.
CDC25A is specifically degraded in response to DNA damage, preventing cells with chromosomal abnormalities from dividing further.
CDC25A is considered an oncogene, though its exact role in oncogenesis has not been fully demonstrated.
