Target Information
STAT3는 STAT (Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription) 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 수용체 관련 키나아제에 의해 인산화되어 핵으로 이동 후 전사 인자로 작용합니다.
STAT3는 Interferon-α, Interferon-γ, EGF, PDGF, IL-6 등에 의해 활성화되며, Tyr705의 인산화는 STAT3의 이합체 형성, 핵 이동, DNA 결합에 필수적입니다.
STAT3 유전자는 인간 염색체 17q에 위치하며, 다양한 세포 자극에 대한 반응으로 여러 유전자의 발현을 매개하여 세포 성장과 세포사멸 등 다양한 생리적 과정에 관여합니다.
PIAS3 단백질은 STAT3의 특이적 억제 인자로 알려져 있으며, Rac1 GTPase는 STAT3의 활성을 조절합니다.
세 가지 전사체 변이체가 보고되었으며, STAT3 유전자 결손 마우스는 배아 초기 단계에서 치명적입니다.
