Target Information

The ADAM19 gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins and are involved in diverse biological processes such as cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis.
ADAM19 is a type I transmembrane protein serving as a marker for dendritic cell differentiation and functions as an active metalloproteinase involved in physiological and pathological processes including cell migration, adhesion, and signal transduction.
