Monoclonal antibody 23C11 neutralizes LOX-1 and inhibits Hsp70 binding to dendritic cells as well as Hsp70-induced antigen cross-presentation. In vivo, targeting LOX-1 with a tumor antigen using anti-LOX-1 antibody 23C11 induces anti-tumor immunity.
Target Information
LOX-1 (lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1) is a 40–50 kDa type II membrane glycoprotein and a class E scavenger receptor expressed by endothelial cells, macrophages, activated platelets, and smooth muscle cells. It binds to oxidized LDL (oxLDL), hypochlorite-modified HDL, aged or apoptotic cells, activated platelets, and bacteria, reflecting its diverse physiological roles.
