Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene interacts with NEDD4, a ubiquitin-protein ligase family member. These proteins share PY motifs that bind to WW domains of NEDD4. NEDD4 is developmentally regulated and highly expressed in embryonic tissues. Mutations in this gene, including intronic insertions of pentanucleotide repeats ((TGGAA)n), are associated with spinocerebellar ataxia type 31. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
