In direct ELISAs, no cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) IL-2, recombinant mouse IL-15, or rhIL-21 is observed.
Target Information
IL-15 (Interleukin 15) is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer cell activation and proliferation. It shares many biological activities with IL-2, as both bind common hematopoietin receptor subunits and may compete for the same receptor, thus modulating each other’s activity. IL-15 induces activation of JAK kinases and transcription activators STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6. It plays critical roles in the growth and differentiation of T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, macrophages, and monocytes. IL-15 is also implicated in immune responses, allograft rejection, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. Neutralization of IL-15 has shown beneficial effects in models of psoriasis and diabetes.
