The Applied Biosystems™ Rat ACTB (actin, beta) Endogenous Control (FAM™ Dye / MGB Probe, Non-Primer Limited) is intended as an endogenous control for relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples when used with other gene expression assays.
Probe is labeled with 6FAM™ dye - MGB and the primers are not limited. Can be used for singleplex PCR reactions.
Endogenous control is compatible with Inventoried and Non-Inventoried TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays, Custom TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays, and/or Custom TaqMan™ Primers and Probes.

Simple to Use

All components are QC tested, formulated into a single 20X mix, and functionally validated.
Compatible with universal conditions for two-step RT-PCR.
Simply add TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix (with or without AmpErase™ UNG) and your cDNA sample to generate sensitive, reproducible, and quantitative gene expression data on Applied Biosystems instruments such as:

• 7900HT Real-Time PCR System
• 7300, 7500 Real-Time PCR Systems
• 7000 and 7700 Sequence Detection Systems

Each endogenous control uses proven 5′ nuclease chemistry. Available options include:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM, final concentration) and two unlabeled PCR primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM, final concentration) and two unlabeled PCR primers (150 nM each, primer limited)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TAMRA™ probe (250 nM, final concentration) and two unlabeled PCR primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Endogenous controls normalize target gene expression by correcting for cDNA loading differences.
For best results:

• Ensure consistent expression across all samples
• Use controls with expression levels greater than target genes when multiplexing

Multiplex vs. Singleplex PCR

• VIC™ dye-labeled controls are primer limited and suitable for multiplexing
• FAM™ dye-labeled controls are non-primer limited and intended for singleplex use
