Target Information
This gene belongs to a family of Sp1-related genes encoding transcription factors that regulate gene expression by binding to GC- and GT-box regulatory elements. The SP3 protein contains zinc finger DNA-binding and transactivation domains, functioning as both an activator and repressor of transcription. Multiple transcript variants and isoforms exist, including one initiating translation from a non-AUG (AUA) start codon. A pseudogene is located on chromosome 13.
